Ismat Chughtai and Qurrat-ul-ain Haider (also known as Annie Apa), are two influential names in women’s literature in the Indian subcontinent. They wrote in Urdu and brought forth the women’s viewpoint in a strong manner in their short stories and novels, at a time when women’s voices were diminutive.
