Here is a couplet by Mahshar Badayuni with the lafz :
Tishnagi bhi maslahat hai lekin andaze ke saath
Zarf vale ab hamein itna na tarsaya Karen
It is prudent to be measured in one’s thirst (for something, metaphorically for love)
Yet those with a high endurance mustn’t make one plead for more
