Abr means Cloud

Given below is a couplet written by poet Fuzail Jafri which uses the word Abr:

Aaon ke abr ashkon ki barasaat dekh le,
fursat mile to aa mere din raat dekh le

Translation

Come see the rain fall from the tear laden clouds

Come see my days and nights if you have the time.

Abr in Uzbeki

Abr ابر is cloud in Persian; Bandi means to tie or bind.

Abrbandi ‘tying the clouds’ is the poetic Uzbek term for the resist-dye technique known better as ikat.According to legend, the first ikat artisan drew inspiration to weave a shimmering, patterned cloth from seeing clouds reflected in a pool of water, hence the romantic term Abrbandi.
