 Rajinder Singh Bedi (1915–1984) was a progressive Urdu writer, playwright and a Hindi film director,screenwriter and dialogue writer.
 
He is one of the greatest 20th century progressive writers of Urdu fiction. His dialogues for films such as AbhimaanAnupama, and Madhumati are considered classics and he also wore the film director’s hat with much grace.  He is considered as the second most prominent Urdu fiction writer, after Saadat Hasan Manto and like Manto he is most known for his disturbing partition stories.
 
We have selected some of his short stories, dialogues and film clips to explore the work of this multifaceted man. Join us as we explore the works of this prolific writer and immerse ourselves in his stories.
