UW-Mood IndigoUrduwallahs are very happy to share with you that we will be presenting Manto-Naama, the life and works of Urdu short story writer, Saadat Hasan Manto, at Mood Indigo, the college youth festival of IIT Powai, Bombay.

Manto, a prolific Urdu short story writer has a canvas splashed with colourful and controversial stories ranging from the Partition to his involvement in the Indian film industry and his love for Bombay. The Urduwallahs have selected an interesting assortment of short stories, to give the young audience a perspective of this multilayered writer.

Picture1The performance will be a seamless blend of Urdu and English readings of Manto’s work by Arwa Mamaji and Priya Nijhara in conjunction with Rakkesh Chaturvedi and Ujjwal Rana, with inputs from our collaborators in Karachi, Pakistan – Zambeel Dramatic Readings.
