Hello,
Came across your website when a friend linked me to a poem by Faiz. I’ve been reading Faiz/Ghalib for a few years (hindi/english) from books I’d normally buy online/book stores in Delhi (most book stores in Bombay are quite bad for poetry and even worse for urdu) On the ‘we recommend page’ you should possibly link to Dastangoi too. Kafila is a daily read for me, but the other two websites are new.
I wish I were as resourceful as you lot, the weekend course at Anjuman seems perfect (BPB reviews). I spent so much time searching for something like that but never came across it on the internet. Oh well..
Bombay is home for me but unfortunately I’m not there right now- hope to be back soon, but in the mean time if I can do anything to support this initiative, such as provide Zia Mohyeddin Reads (the albums 1-6), some books by Iqbal/Faiz/Ghalib and some omnibus sort of books etc (which are at home), and some online stuff I’ve trawled, I’d love to help. Hope to join you when I’m there.
Best,
Rho
