Jumbish – means to shake or tremor, to have movement.
Ghalib’s couplet from the ghazal ‘Baazeecha-e-atfal’ brings this lafz to life:
Go haath ko jumbish nahin aankhon mein toh dum hai
Rahne do abhi saaghar-o-meena meray aage
The English translation from the book Ghalib: Epistemologies of Elegance” by Azra Raza and Sara Suleri Goodyear, is below
Even when hands have no movement, sight retains vitality
So leave the accoutrements of wine before me
I think a more specific meaning is ‘movement with a purpose’.
