Did You Know –
Yash Chopra is known to have the exclusive rights to Sahir Ludhianvi’s longest work of poetry, Parchhaiyan (means The Shadows), which is considered to be an anti-war document (themed on the International Peace Movement). Certain verses were also used in the film Pyaasa.
The uniqueness of Parchhaiyan lies in the metering of the poem. As the content of the poem moves from romance to social issues (all in the context of propagating international peace ), the metering (rhyming pattern) of the poem changes to reflect the content and its tonality.
