aap ki yaad aati rahi raat bhar
chashm-e-nam muskuraati rahi raat bhar

raat bhar dard ki shammaa jalati rahi
gam ki lau tharatharaati rahi raat bhar

baansuri ki surili suhaani sadaa
yaad ban ban ke aati rahi raat bhar

yaad ke chaand dil men utarate rahe
chaandanii jagamaati rahi raat bhar

koi diivaanaa galiyon men phirataa rahaa
koi aavaaz aati rahi raat bhar
Rough Translation:
Your thought lingered all night
My wet eyes kept smiling all night
The fame kept on burning all night
The small flame of sadness kept trembling all night
The sound of melodious flute
Kept coming back as a memory all night
The moons of thought penetrated in the heart
The moonlit sky glittered all night
Some lover wandered through lanes
Some familiar voice kept coming all night

The words are used in a song sung by Chhaya Ganguli, music by Jaidev, from the film called ‘Gaman’ directed by Muzaffar Ali. Both Chhaya and Jaidev won the national award for best female singer and best music direction respectively in 1979.
