Tabassum, the TV host became a household name during the seventies and eighties, thanks to the first ever Hindi movie based TV serial “Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan” introduced by Doordarshan in 1972. Setting a record of its own kind, this serial ran for 21 long years. She claims to have the distinction of being the only personality who has been active in five different mass communication media, namely film, television, radio, print and journalism for the last five decades.
