Did you know the word ‘Urdu’ means ‘camp or army with its followers’ ?
Urdu is also called ‘Rekhta’ which means ‘molded ‘or ‘poured’ in persian symbolizing a rough mixture of Hindi-Urdu, Persian, Turkish and Arabic.

the word horde is also from the same root from the “golden horde” of the turks from the word ordu in turkish which means royal camp-and urdu was from zaban-e-urdu-e-mualla i.e. the language of the royal camp that is of the court of the later mughals. therefore it does not mean an army with followers. the whole theory of urdu being a language of the invading armies of the muslims mixed with the local hindi is therefore a pleasant fiction.
